Booking a collection comes with some real advantages! Some of the major perks include saving money, enjoying a cohesive look across all your images, and the added comfort of working with the same photographer throughout each session. I’ll get to know your little one—what makes them giggle, what soothes them, and how to capture them at their best. Plus, it makes the whole process feel easy, familiar, and stress-free for everyone involved.

For outdoor sessions, lighting is usually best in the late afternoon or early evening hours right before sunset. That golden hour lighting is quite beautiful as long as the weather permits. I also love an overcast sky, so no matter what, we can make it work! I completely understand that this time isn't practical for all families. In-home and in studio session allow for more flexibility in timing. After you inquire, we will discuss these details and find a time that works best for your family!

Your sessions can take place outdoors, in-home, in my studio, or maybe you want to rent a studio you like. If you aren't sure where you'd like to pick as your location, I am more than happy to help. During my consultation prior to booking, I will chat with you about some of my favorite locations in the area we could plan your family session for!

Travel within the Central Illinois area is always free! I also offer select dates in Chicago with no travel fee. If you’re hoping to book a specific day in Chicago outside of those dates, there’s a $50 travel fee. For locations beyond Central IL or Chicago, I’m happy to travel—just reach out, and we can chat about the details and any additional cost based on your location.

That’s totally okay! Yes really! My approach is all about capturing real, authentic moments, not perfectly posed smiles. I try to get the classic images when the children are feeling it most! If your kids are shy, energetic, or having an off day, we’ll roll with it. Some of the most meaningful photos come from those unscripted, in-between moments. Your job is to relax and enjoy the time with your family while I take care of the rest.

Bellies grow at different paces and pregnancy feels different for each woman, so maternity sessions can happen anytime in the second or third trimester. Most women say they like the way they look and feel between 26-34 weeks. Some moms begin to feel a bit swollen and fatigued in the later weeks of the third trimester, so I tend to recommend this sweet spot. However, it’s never too late to document this special time as long as baby is still on the inside!

I recommend scheduling newborn sessions within the first 2 weeks after birth. During this time, babies still have their fresh newborn details that quickly fade away, so it is ideal to book your session for this time frame. When you book, we will set a tentative date about 7-10 days after your due date. Once your little one arrives, you can reach out to confirm or adjust that date as needed. I leave flexibility in my schedule around the time of your session in case anything needs to be adjusted. If you feel you need additional time to recover from birth, you're more than welcome to schedule a later newborn session, when baby is closer to 6-8 weeks.

Once your session has concluded, I will edit and deliver 5-10 sneak peek images within 72 hours of your session. I like to deliver sneak peeks since, many times, having a professional photoshoot done is a big deal! Your final gallery will be delivered within 4-6 weeks of your scheduled session.
